The extreme close-up perspective of this original painting by artist Jules Landry, might make the subject matter a little hard to guess on first glance. However, it immediately slides into focus upon reading its title:
Bateau De Peche Huile.
For anyone who is not fluent in French (I had to look it up!) this describes both the subject matter of the painting and the medium used by the artist.
The English translation:
Fishing Boat. Oil
Although not currently framed the painting still feels ready to display since the artist has painted the sides of the canvas black which gives the feeling of a minimalist black frame.
