Expertly constructed from tightly woven split bamboo with reinforced bentwood banding and hand-lashed detailing. This basket reflects the practical artistry of the Akha people and neighboring mountain tribes of the Thailand–Myanmar border region, where vessels such as this were traditionally used for storing rice, seeds, herbs, textiles, and personal household items. This smaller-scale example possesses an intimate, highly decorative presence that works beautifully within collected interiors.
