Charming Original Oil on. Board - formal floral in dark green vase with both texture and subtle tones.
Mid 20th C., with original gallery gilt and carved wood frame with appealing barn red and black liner.
9.5" tall by 7.5" wide by 1" deep.
Likely American - from a fine private collection with New York City provenance.
Scarlet, purple, plum, white, grey, several shads of green....a sneaky good small original work that would bring a burst of life to a corner, a stack of paintings, or a contemplative spot where you can ponder for a moment.
In keeping with Aesop's fable, Fox and Crow's Motto is "Beware of False Flattery!" So, with each listing we offer a true confession about the item...
Think Old Gold...blended with quality details and a classic European 19th C. image. And the palette knife style of rich, textured impasto style is attractive in this usage. A fine small painting.
