An antique Caucasian Shirvan rug. The rows of botehs reverse direction on the beige field of this east Caucasian prayer rug. The botehs seem to pass under the niche arch into the spandrels above. The bitonal diagonally striped border is a Shirvan fixture as are the flip-flop carnation minors.
