Small in scale but rich in presence, this vintage English hand-hammered copper and pewter tray captures the quiet beauty of Arts & Crafts metalwork. The circular form feels intimate and intentional, its diminutive size lending it a jewel-like quality that invites closer looking.
The copper surface has developed a wonderfully deep patina, softly darkened and mottled with gentle wear that traces years of handling. At the center, a delicate pewter floral inlay blooms against the copper ground, its silvery tones offering a graceful contrast. Made in the manner of Hugh Wallis and bearing the mark of Victoria House Coppersmiths, the tray clearly evokes Wallis’ influence—celebrating natural forms, honest materials, and the visible hand of the maker.
Hand selected in England and imported with care, this piece bridges function and ornament with ease. Whether used as a small catchall, styled atop a stack of books, or displayed on a shelf or table, it brings with it the enduring spirit of the Arts & Crafts era and the quiet romance of English craftsmanship.

The surface shows light scratches, small dents, and areas of uneven patina consistent with long-term use and handling, all of which contribute to its warm, timeworn character. There are no structural issues; the tray remains sturdy and well-shaped. Any variations in tone, spotting, or surface marks should be considered part of its authentic antique appeal. less
