Presenting a large-scale bowl and underplate, featuring fancy scalloped edges and a pure sterling silver overlay design in the "Acorn and Oak Leaf" pattern. The pattern boasts heavily detailed clusters of acorns, acorn leaves and a structured lattice/fishnet pattern.
The glass blanks are American made, likely by Cambridge, Imperial or Heisey and feature a lovely scalloped edge as well as a flowing relief pattern that looks like cascading water fountains. The blanks were then purchased by manufacturers such as Silver City or Lotus Glass and decorated in pure sterling silver by an electroplating or chemical process to create the final result.
This set makes a stunning centerpiece for a floral arrangement, a punch bowl at the beverage table or large serving bowl for a special delicacy.
This is an unusual find for its large size and condition!
