Collins Campbell (Canadian/Ojibwe/First Nations, 1961-2022) acrylic on board of a man snow shoeing and pulling newly chopped firewood on a sled, pencil signed and dated 1997.
Collins Campbell was born in 1961 in Sioux Lookout, Ontario, and raised in the remote northern community of North Spirit Lake. As as self-taught artist, Campbell's work explores his Ojibwe culture and the legends he was told as a child. He eventually moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba to continue his career in art making. Collins Campbell died in Winnipeg, in July 2022.
