This beautifully proportioned antique Indonesian buffet showcases the artistry of traditional Javanese wood carving, with an intricately ornamented façade incorporating scrolling vines, floral motifs, geometric patterns, and circular medallions.
The distinctive central section features three functional drawers arranged vertically within a gently projecting, scalloped architectural design. Each drawer is richly embellished with carved decorative panels and integrated ornamental pulls, creating an elegant rhythmic composition.
Flanking the drawers are two substantial cabinet doors, each decorated with elaborate hand-carved botanical motifs surrounding a raised circular medallion. Intricately carved borders frame the doors, emphasizing the remarkable attention to detail throughout the piece.
The warm reddish-brown wood retains a beautiful aged patina, highlighting the depth and character of the carving. Four decorative gilt-toned claw feet elevate the cabinet and introduce a subtle European colonial influence.
Measuring 66 inches wide, this antique Javanese carved sideboard offers both sculptural presence and practical storage. Its relatively shallow 17-inch depth makes it especially suitable for an entryway, dining room, hallway, or sophisticated living space.
A striking example of Southeast Asian antique furniture, this intricately carved Indonesian credenza would complement Spanish Colonial, Mediterranean, Moroccan, Asian, and contemporary eclectic interiors.
An exceptional decorative statement piece combining intricate 19th-century craftsmanship, architectural character, and functional storage.
