40s Pair Phil-Mar Style Art Deco Mid Century Modern Abstract Ceramic Table Lamps
Exquisite, organic, freeform pair of late 1940s ceramic lamps.
The pair blend traditionalism and modernism, characterized by sleek lines, organic forms, and a focus on functionality.
The 1940s saw a transition from traditional styles to more modern aesthetics, resulting in lamps that often combine elements of both.
Lighting designs emphasized functionality without sacrificing style, creating lamps that were both practical and visually appealing.
Design during World War ll war, emphasized functionality and form. However as the 1950s approached, the post-war lifestyle became a celebration of sleek modernism, organic form, and frivolous experimentation
This pair of lamps capture the blending of a society in transition
The design was chosen by "The Vintage Lamp" blog to represent these changes. (See photo)
