This vintage Egyptian Kilim, measuring 4'3" x 5'9", is handwoven in the Fustat region of the Nile Delta using wool on a cotton foundation. Crafted with a flat weave technique, it features modern geometric designs created by tightly interlacing warp and weft threads, resulting in a smooth, pile-free surface. Lighter and softer than traditional pile rugs, kilims serve versatile purposes beyond flooring, including use as sofa covers, drapes, pillows, tablecloths, wall hangings, and insulation against cold.
