A serene and uplifting mid-century modernist coastal landscape painting, executed in oil onto board.

The painting captures a sweeping coastal road as it bends gently toward the sea. Modernist in its ethos, the composition is defined by its bold simplification of form – trees, path, and shoreline reduced to expressive, geometric shapes in contrasting colour.

The brushwork is confident and flat, with areas of solid colour laid down in deliberate blocks, creating a sense of stylised stillness. Trees appear as abstracted vertical forms, their trunks and canopies subtly suggested rather than rendered in detail.

This oil on board is housed in very well suited wood frame. there is some wear on the left edge of the painting where it meets the frame, but the painting is in good vintage condition overall. The frame has very minor scuffing. See less
