Expertly painted, the surfaces capture the exuberant veining of book-matched onyx or marble, rendered in translucent gold to amber hues with ribbons of white, finished on the edge in a jade green. Below, the swelled apron of the table frame is ornately carved in typical acanthus leaves and fan motif, bathed in gold for a lovely contrast to the dark taupe paint.
