TULIPS IN A JUG
Size: 27.6 x 24 inches (including frame)
Oil on canvas
An elegant and delicate mid-century still life painting, executed in oil onto canvas.
The composition captures a bouquet of tulips in a jug, accompanied by a 2 round objects on a dark cloth. They rest on a table with a blue tablecloth with gentle folds.
The artist has used a soft and soothing muted colour palette with gentle greens, blues, and earthy browns, balanced by the warm red of the tulips. The brushwork is loose and impressionistic, giving the piece an almost soft-focus quality.
This oil on canvas is housed in a complementary wood frame with an inner linen border and gilt window. Both the painting and frame are in excellent vintage condition.
