Painted in 1931 by D. Petroff, a Russian artist who emigrated to France after the 1917 Russian Revolution, this pastoral oil painting captures the calm of rural life. Cows graze by a quiet pond, framed by warm autumnal tones. Petroff, along with many Russian émigrés, became part of France's thriving art scene, and this piece reflects his deep connection to nature and peaceful landscapes of the past. His delicate brushwork and attention to detail create a timeless sense of serenity. Signed by the artist on the front left coroner, letter of authenticity, dated 1931 on the back.
