This piece was … Read more Presented in this listing is a wooden sculpture by Italian artist and furniture maker, Mario Dal Fabbro. This piece was sculpted in the artist's trademark, nebulous style and evokes a botanic, tree-like object that is equally fluid and calcified. It measures 12 1/4" in height, 12 1/2" in width, and 6" in depth. It is signed and dated (1981) underneath the base.

Dal Fabbro's experience with wood began with his three decades as a furniture maker, beginning in Venice and then in New York City. Twenty years later, he pursued his original passion for sculpting where his in-depth knowledge enabled him to treat wood with the malleability of clay. And for his organic, kinetic shapes, Fabbro preferred smaller pieces as they condensed the dimensional complexity of the forms. His pieces currently occupy private and public collections around the world. See less
