Afternoon Tea,
Sometimes finding an old tea cup and saucer in an antique or charity shop is the start of a still life set up. I think when you paint an object you seem to connect to it in a different way. Maybe it’s fanciful but I can imagine the people who have sat down in the afternoon for a pause in the day drinking a refreshing cup of tea out of this fine bone China. Joined by a cat of course!
