Northwestern Persia
This urban carpet clearly shows a Heriz influence, with its semi-geometric drawing of a buff octofoil medallion centred by a light blue concentric sub-medallion. The ragged palette pendants and stiff floral elements are neatly distributed on the navy field, while the extra large pale blue corners relate to the medallion. Cloud bands, rare on Heriz carpets, are mixed with reversing turtle palmettes in the main border.
