Mid 20th century Persian painting of Layla and Majnun with handmade marquetry khatam frame.
"Layla and Majnun" is a famous tragic love story. Layla and Qays (called Majnun, which means “possessed”), are in love from childhood but are not allowed to unite. Qays is perceived to be mad in his obsession with Layla. Layla is married off to another and Majnun becomes a hermit, devoting himself to writing verses about his profound love of Layla.
It is in great vintage condition (it has a small mark on the edge, Please check all pictures for more details).
