A dynamic studio art pottery pedestal bowl showcasing the expressive power of layered glaze. Wheel-thrown and signed “NG,” the piece features a complex exterior of beige, blue, and deep violet with burgundy accents, while the interior reveals a taupe-to-lavender and pink glaze fusion.
The form’s flared rim and narrow base emphasize movement and contrast, typical of modernist studio ceramics from the late 20th century. A kiln crack visible inside does not penetrate the exterior, preserving full integrity and aesthetic impact. This one-of-a-kind vessel exemplifies the tactile experimentation and sculptural drama that define collectible American studio pottery.
