The tabletop is constructed of four members joined by mitered tenons surrounding a floating panel made of a solid single board of red elmwood with amazing grain patterns. (although from the "eyes" and fluid grain patterns, some believe the wood is of a more rare and prized specie). Such an ingenuine design allows the solid wood panel to expand and shrink according to humidity within the framework, maintaining structural soundness. The table top connects directly to the legs with pairs of spandrels on both sides carved in the style of clouds and ruyi. Solid stretchers enhance stability and provide additional support. Table is double sided and finished on all sides. A wine table was used in ancient China for wine tasting and during leisure gathering. Scholars also use it as a table to place their string instruments, books and scrolls. This elegant table works well in all interiors and reflects your highly sophisticated taste. See less
