This is a work made in oil on canvas applied to cardboard. The luministic rendering of the dress, wide hat and red ribbon is expertly done. The colors are vibrant and stand out against the dark background. The high quality style and pictorial rendering allow us to consider the painting attributable to Egisto Lancerotto, famous for his female portraits, active in the second half of the 19th century until 1916. The original format of the painting does not correspond to the present one; the dimensions, in fact, have been reduced by obtaining an oval. The painting is accompanied by a passe-partout and a coeval Venetian frame. See less
