This splendid and celebrated original Scandinavian modernist "Kroken" lounge chair, a milestone in Swedish design, was designed by Åke Fribytter for Nelo Möbel in the 1970s.
The seat is distinguished by its futuristic cantilevered structure in pressed curved plywood with a glossy black lacquer finish, shaped to combine a sinuous line with exceptional anatomical comfort. The seat, suspended on a sturdy, stretched canvas, features generous, enveloping button-quilted cushions, topped by a distinctive, adjustable, contoured headrest, entirely upholstered in soft, high-quality black genuine leather. An iconic collector's piece with a striking visual impact, perfect as a reading chair or a focal point for modernist living rooms, offices, or prestigious relaxation areas.
Measurements:
Height: 85 cm
Width: 75 cm
Depth: 108 cm
Item Condition:
The armchair is in good overall structural condition, with stable and efficient flexibility of the frame. Each item exhibits signs of aging due to use and age, evident in the natural and soft creases created by the seat on the genuine leather upholstery, slight aging cracks in the leather, and normal surface micro-scratches along the black lacquer finish of the frame. Please note that the left armrest band needs to be re-stitched, a small but targeted upholstery repair that will fully restore the aesthetic integrity of this splendid designer chair.
Please carefully review the photos, as they are an integral part of the item .
