A rare, spectacular, and iconic "S"-shaped armchair (S-Chair) designed by renowned Florentine architect and designer Marzio Cecchi for Studio Most in Florence in the early 1970s. It is one of the most sought-after and sculptural pieces of Italian modernism, renowned for its complex, sinuous, gravity-defying cantilevered silhouette.
The chair is constructed on a sturdy, vintage metal frame, elegantly and entirely hand-upholstered with a dense, meticulously woven banana leaf cord (or natural wicker), which extends seamlessly from the circular base to the majestic high backrest. This exceptional piece of art and craftsmanship blends organic aesthetics with the radical Italian design of the era, making it the perfect focal point in a stately living room, a luxurious entryway, or as part of a signature design collection.
