This impressive mid-century floor vase was crafted in the 1970s by jünger kéramik (gebrüder jünger) in west germany.
with its imposing height of 51 cm, the vase captivates with its striking, sculptural brutalist design. The heavy ceramic body is characterized by a highly tactile, vertically and horizontally structured groove and relief texture. The exterior is covered with a thick, effervescent "fat lava" glaze in creamy white tones over a dark, earth-toned base. Fine, coarse-grained sand inclusions lend the surface a particularly raw, architectural appearance. In appealing contrast, the interior is smooth and glazed in a warm reddish-brown.
the underside bears the embossed jünger kéramik manufacturer's mark (with the characteristic double-roof symbol), the model number 7870-50, and the inscription w.-germany.
a rare, expressive floor vase and an ideal statement piece for modern, mid-century modern, space age, or brutalist interiors.
