Gélule medicine cabinet designed by fabrice berrux and produced by périgot in france during the 2000s.
the cabinet takes its form from a pharmaceutical capsule, translating a familiar everyday object into a distinctive piece of wall-mounted furniture.
constructed in red and white lacquered aluminium, its elongated cylindrical body is divided into two curved opening sections. Integrated shelves provide storage for medicines and small personal items.
the design originated in the late 1990s and was subsequently commercialized by périgot, a french brand recognized for its imaginative reinterpretation of functional domestic objects.
gélule illustrates berrux's approach to design, combining humor, geometric clarity and practical functionality in an object with a strong sculptural identity.
this example retains the original périgot and fabrice berrux markings.
