A monumental cylindrical Thumbprint planter with matte glaze by David Cressey and Robert Maxwell for Earthgender, made in Southern California in the early 1970s. It measures 19.25” high and 17.75” across.
The pot rings true and has four small drainage holes. Light vintage wear is present around the ridges of the thumbprints, which is documented in the rotational photos (images 9-12 of the gallery).
The plant is for styling purposes only and is not included in the sale. We have included a photograph with a 15” Thumbprint planter for reference.
We placed a circular felt pad around the bottom of the base to facilitate photography. It can be removed prior to shipping if desired.
It is unmarked. To our knowledge, larger Earthgender pieces like this one were rarely if ever marked.
