This is a magnificent, large-scale matching pair of vintage bronze candelabras, crafted in the ornate French Rococo style.
Each candelabra features a beautifully detailed, winged cherub (putto) seated at the base, one holding a small musical instrument and the other holding a tablet or book. They sit upon elaborate, heavily sculpted bases adorned with floral garlands, scrolls, and rococo cartouches, resting on decorative, shell-like feet.
Rising from the center is a tall, textured stem designed to resemble a tree trunk, which branches out into five exquisitely detailed, scrolling arms. Each arm is topped with a fluted, leaf-form candle cup (bobeche). The bronze has developed a rich, dark, and slightly mottled patina over time, giving these substantial pieces a deeply antique and luxurious character. They are perfect for flanking a mantel, dining table, or as a grand statement piece in a living room.
