A spectacular, monumental 77-inch tall custom artisan birdcage on a matching scrolled stand. Standing nearly six and a half feet high, this estate-scale statement piece features a dramatic towering tower silhouette crowned with a sharply tapered pagoda-style roof.
This is a magnificent example of 1970s custom studio ironwork. Unlike mass-produced factory items, this piece features heavy, robust hand-welded joinery throughout. The exceptional craftsmanship is highlighted by heavy-gauge twisted vertical iron bars and thick, hand-formed C-scroll decorative trim bordering the perimeter bands. The entire piece features an outstanding, deeply layered, completely natural brown iron oxidation patina that gives it incredible rustic character and depth.
A central swinging front door retains its rugged hand-crafted latch system, opening to an expansive interior with a solid iron floor shelf. The cage sits securely atop a matching, integrated heavy-duty tri-foot scrolled pedestal base that provides rock-solid stability for its massive weight.
