Original framed watercolor titled "City Dock" by Annapolis-area artist Matthew M. Mack (American, Colonel, USAF Ret.), signed and dated lower margin "Matthew M. Mack © 1982."
The scene shows the Annapolis waterfront in loose, plein-air style: a white clapboard building with a rust-red roof, a tall church spire beyond, a moored sailboat with its rigging in the foreground, and two small figures strolling along the dock, all reflected in soft sage and blue-gray water. Transparent washes on heavily textured watercolor paper, with fine pen-style line detail.
The back retains the original Mack Art Studio label, hand-inscribed with the title "City Dock," medium "Watercolor," and "Painted Annapolis Studio – June '82," along with the artist's printed "About the Artist" biography. Mack was a decorated WWII and Korean War command pilot who retired from the Air Force in 1963 and devoted himself to painting; he was best known in the Annapolis area for his colorful local watercolor scenes and kept a studio in Crownsville, Maryland.
Presented in a double cream mat with a gold-tone metal frame under glass, wired and ready to hang. A great piece of Chesapeake Bay and Annapolis history for a coastal, nautical, or traditional interior.
