This elegant, baluster-shaped lidded jar is crafted in the traditional cloisonné enamel technique on a copper base. The vessel features a striking and sophisticated design, with a deep black ground completely covered in an intricate, all-over wirework pattern of stylized floral scrolls.
The entire piece is finished with a rich gold-toned (gilt) wirework outline, and the mouth, shoulder, and base are accented with prominent, bright gilded bands. The lid features a matching floral pattern and a central gold-toned disc. The interior is finished in a bright turquoise enamel. Originally designed as a tea caddy, the jar features a well-fitting lid with a secure seal. It is perfect for storing loose tea, or it can be displayed as a luxurious decorative accent in a living room or study.
