This is a matching pair of elegant, large-scale lidded jars, crafted in the traditional cloisonné enamel technique on a copper base. The vessels feature a warm, textured beige-gold ground, entirely covered in a delicate wirework pattern of stylized auspicious clouds.
The striking focal point is the bold, geometric black and white banding around the body and the lids. The jars are shaped like classic trophies, resting on flared pedestal bases with a decorative Greek key (meander) border above the foot. They feature prominent gilded rims at the mouth, lid edge, mid-section, and base, adding a luxurious metallic shine. The interiors are finished in a dark, glossy teal-blue enamel. Originally designed as tea caddies, this substantial, museum-quality pair is perfect for display on a mantel, sideboard, or bookshelf.
