This substantial and elegant lidded jar is crafted in the traditional cloisonné enamel technique. The piece features a beautiful, soft lavender and light purple ground completely covered in a dense, all-over pattern of stylized, intertwined flowers and scrolling foliage, outlined in fine dark wirework.
The jar has a matching domed lid and features exposed, polished copper rims at the mouth, shoulder, and base, adding a warm metallic contrast to the cool purple tones. The interior is coated in a vibrant, contrasting turquoise enamel. Originally designed as a tea caddy, this generously sized vessel is perfect for storing loose tea, or it can be displayed as a striking decorative accent in a living room or on a bookshelf.
