This elegant, low-profile bowl is crafted in the traditional cloisonné enamel technique, featuring a vibrant turquoise ground with intricate wirework patterns. The exterior is adorned with colorful, stylized lotus blossoms and scrolling foliage in shades of pink, red, green, yellow, and white. The piece is finished with a gilded rim and base, and the interior features a matching turquoise enamel finish.
Historically, this form is known as a brush washer (used by scholars to rinse calligraphy brushes), but it serves beautifully today as a decorative catchall, trinket dish, or tabletop accent. The design reflects classic Chinese aesthetic traditions, with the lotus symbolizing purity and harmony.
