This elegant rectangular serving or tea tray features a striking juxtaposition of materials. The center is inset with a glossy porcelain plaque, beautifully hand-painted with a traditional pastoral landscape scene. The artwork depicts a herdsman riding a water buffalo through a mountainous terrain with blossoming trees, accompanied by small boats gliding on a tranquil river. The top left corner includes calligraphic text and a red artist's seal.
The porcelain is securely framed by a rich, dark-toned wood structure, meticulously carved to resemble bamboo stalks with distinct nodes. The frame features four raised corner posts that elevate the tray slightly from the surface. The underside of the tray features a finely grooved wooden base with a horizontal linear texture.
