A truly mesmerizing fusion of traditional clay, exceptional lacquer artistry, and sculptural design. This striking Vintage Yixing (Zisha) Clay Teapot is entirely coated in a stunning "Rhinoceros Skin" (Xipi) lacquer finish. The surface features a hypnotic, swirling marbled pattern in a rich palette of emerald green, black, and gilded gold.
Unlike traditional round teapots, this piece boasts a distinctive cylindrical form resting on three sturdy legs. The crowning feature is the beautifully cast, gilded metal finial on the lid, shaped like a mythical guardian beast (resembling a Pixiu or Foo Dog), symbolizing protection and good fortune. The gracefully curved spout and handle are equally textured with the swirling lacquer.
