This is an exquisitely crafted rectangular wooden box, featuring intricate, deep relief carving across its surfaces. Crafted from a richly grained hardwood with a dark, almost ebony patina, the box is constructed with clean lines and a sliding lid mechanism.
The top lid is adorned with a detailed carved landscape scene, depicting stylized mountains, pine trees, and traditional architecture, all set beneath a textured, cloud-filled sky. The sides of the box are similarly decorated, featuring continuous carved panels with mountain motifs, floral blossoms (likely plum or chrysanthemum), and clouds. The carving is executed with fine detail, creating a textured, three-dimensional effect against the smooth, polished wood.
The box opens smoothly via the sliding lid to reveal a clean, unlined wooden interior, making it an elegant storage solution for small treasures, desk accessories, or tea implements.
