The telescope is crafted from polished metal, likely brass, with a dark, wood-grain finished body. It features a distinctive, painted cylindrical base with a vibrant, classical artwork panel depicting figures in red and yellow robes.

The barrel is engraved with the text "Dollond London," the year "1920," and a serial number "Serial No. 07134." The telescope is collapsible, making it compact for storage in the custom-fitted box, which features a vintage-style label on the lid reading "Victorian Marine Telescope."
