This is a beautifully crafted, low-profile incense burner (censer), featuring intricate cloisonné enamel work. The body is a vibrant royal blue, heavily decorated with colorful, wire-outlined floral and scrolling vine motifs in shades of pink, green, yellow, and red. A prominent stylized lotus blossom centers the design on the front.
The vessel is topped with a fitted, dark metal lid featuring a complex, pierced lattice pattern to allow incense smoke to escape. The top rim of the enamel body is finished with a brass/gold-toned band. The flat, dark metal underside of the piece features a recessed square seal containing four characters.
This substantial, heavy piece serves as a stunning decorative accent for a mantel, desk, or collector's display, or as a functional incense burner.

The cloisonné enamel is vibrant and largely intact, with a smooth, glossy finish. There are minor surface scratches and slight wear visible on the enamel, particularly along the top rim. The metal lid and base show a natural, aged patina with some tarnishing, scratches, and signs of oxidation typical of older metal. The recessed seal on the base is clear. The structural integrity of the censer and its lid appears solid. Please review all photos carefully for a detailed view of the condition. less
