Crafted from a dark, richly grained hardwood with a deep reddish-brown patina, the tray is accented with small, evenly spaced dots of light-colored shell inlay along its undulating edge.

The center of the tray is decorated with a classic nature scene. Two birds with iridescent green and purple wing accents are depicted in flight, looking toward a stylized, gnarled tree trunk and branches. The scene is completed by bamboo leaves, pale yellow blossoms, and a single pink flower, all meticulously cut from shimmering shell. The natural grain of the dark wood provides a striking, high-contrast background that makes the iridescent shell artwork stand out beautifully.
