The hinged wing cover swings upward to reveal a shallow ashtray well inside the body, so the insect works as a functional piece as well as a desk or shelf sculpture.

Size: 4.7 x 2.8 x 2.4 inches / 12 x 7 x 6 cm (width x depth x height).

Cast in brass with fine detail on the wing ridges, the leg joints and the head. The surface carries an aged patina with soft pale wear patches along the wing cover and legs, which comes from decades of handling. The hinge moves freely and the lid closes cleanly.
