The vases feature a classic pear-shaped body that tapers to a flared rim, flanked by two ornate, stylized animal-head handles.

The surfaces are heavily adorned with intricate, low-relief carvings. The central focal point of each vase is a prominent, fierce beast face (often known as a taotie motif) with bulging eyes, curved horns, and bared teeth. This central visage is surrounded by dense, swirling, archaic-style scrollwork that covers the neck, belly, and base. The material has a deep, dark brown to black tone with lighter, natural-looking striations and a matte, textured finish that gives it an aged, antique appearance.

On the flat underside of the base, there is a recessed, diamond-shaped seal containing four square, stylized characters. These substantial, heavy pieces make a dramatic statement on a mantel, shelf, or as a centerpiece on a dining table.
