It depicts three iconic ladies from the famous Schönheitengalerie of King Ludwig I of Bavaria, delicately hand-painted after the originals by Joseph Karl Stieler. The portraits decrease elegantly in size from top to bottom and each bears a distinct artist's signature: Top (Largest): Amalie von Schintling (signed “Stieler”). Middle (Middle): Lola Montez (signed by miniature painter “Korn”). Bottom (Smallest): Lady Jane Elizabeth Digby (signed by miniature painter “Lien”). Each portrait is hand-painted with utmost precision and framed behind the original, convex glass. The small paintings are surrounded by a deep burgundy velvet passe-partout with a finely turned gold-colored brass rim. High-quality finish & Multifunctional design: The backs are luxuriously lined with a deep red moiré silk featuring a beautiful watermark effect. The brass connecting chains and the fabric tassel at the bottom are mounted via a screw eye system. These can be easily unscrewed if desired. This allows you to choose whether to hang the miniatures as one long vertical triptych using the original top hanging eye, or transform them into three beautiful, separate round wall miniatures. Not a modern reproduction or print, but genuine 19th-century antique craftsmanship. An absolute eye-catcher for a classic, Victorian, or ‘Dark Academia’ interior. Specifications: Total length (including tassel): 44.5 cm Length of hanger (without tassel): 33.5 cm Length of tassel section: 11 cm Diameter of top miniature: 10.3 cm Diameter of middle miniature: 9.5 cm Diameter of bottom miniature: 8.0 cm Thickness per picture: 0.5 cm Period: Approx. 1890–1910 Condition: In very good antique condition. The convex glass of all three miniatures is completely intact. Both the burgundy velvet on the front and the moiré fabric on the back have beautifully retained their deep, regal color. See less
