Hand-crafted by the noted artisan Shuchun (秀春), this exquisite piece features a traditional figural basket shape complete with a fixed cross-handle meticulously decorated in rich gold leaf gilding and purple floral accents.

The exterior of the bulbous body showcases a striking hammered-style texture covered in a heavy gold foil wash. This lustrous surface acts as a dramatic backdrop for hand-painted polychrome enamels depicting blooming orange and pink peonies framed by deep forest-green leaves. The interior is finished in a clean, neutral cream glaze designed to hold water safely for ikabana floral arrangements.

Authentication Marks:
The unglazed bottom rim is signed with the hand-painted black kanji signature for the artist "秀春" (Shuchun) next to a red artist's seal. The base also features a hand-incised "九谷" (Kutani) mark confirming its authentic heritage from the historic kilns of Ishikawa Prefecture. See less
