A pair of Scandinavian mid century modern "Blade" lounge chairs by Ib Kofod-Larsen for Selig, produced in Denmark c. 1960s and newly reupholstered in a champagne-hued leather from Aeristo's Volaero collection.
The design is defined by sculpted, blade-like arms that resemble the wings of an aircraft, the feature for which the collection is named. Stylized spindles supporting the back cushions make the chairs visually interesting from all sides.
The beechwood frames were refinished in 2021 by the prior owner. They are structurally solid and show beautifully, with light vintage wear visible only on close inspection. The seat and back cushions were newly fashioned from aviation-grade leather from Aereisto. Evans Clips and Pirelli webbing make for a firm but comfortable sit.
A pair of iconic chairs from one of Denmark’s most influential designers in wonderfully preserved condition.
