A lively mid-century landscape painted with loose, expressive brushwork and strong graphic outlines. Tall dark tree trunks frame a winding path or stream, while the foliage is built up in warm orange, rust and yellow against cooler blue, green and turquoise tones. The simplified forms and energetic colour contrasts give the work a distinctly scandinavian modernist / expressionist character.

the painting is presented in its original period frame, with a textured linen-style surround and slim darker inner moulding. A wonderfully decorative piece for a mid-century modern, scandinavian, eclectic or colourful interior, particularly suited as living room wall art, above a sideboard or as part of a collected gallery wall.

the artist has not yet been identified; the signature appears to read “lg g-berg”.
