Impressive large sculptural ceramic lamp base in the Fat Lava style, probably produced in West Germany during the 1970s.
Standing 53 cm tall, this substantial piece features four elegant sculptural handles, an expressive organic silhouette and a beautifully preserved glossy chocolate-brown glaze with contrasting speckled ivory decoration.
The perforated ceramic body was originally designed for a distinctive double-lighting system: one bulb beneath a traditional lampshade and a second light source inside the ceramic structure.
The interior is finished in yellow to create a warm atmospheric glow through the numerous circular openings.
Its bold sculptural design and contrasting glazes are reminiscent of the work of Walter Gerhards, although the piece is unmarked and no definitive attribution can be established.
Condition: Excellent original vintage condition, exceptionally well preserved, almost like new.
Dimensions:
* Height: 53 cm
* Maximum diameter: 34 cm
* Weight: 5.2 kg

The ceramic base is sold without electrical fittings or lampshade. Professional rewiring is required before use.
