a pair of italian wall lamps from the late 1960s, crafted from natural onyx and opal glass. Each sconce features a curved central opal glass diffuser flanked by two sculptural onyx elements, creating an elegant contrast between the translucency of the stone and the smooth surface of the white glass. The geometric, minimalist composition evokes the refined language of italian mid-century modern lighting, while the veining and natural color variations of the onyx lend each lamp a unique character. On the back, there is a period label associated with pietrasanta, tuscany—a town historically linked to the artistic crafting of marble and stone. This detail adds documentary interest to the piece and is consistent with the quality of the workmanship of the onyx elements. Both the onyx sections and the opal glass diffusers are intact.
each lamp takes an e14 bulb and is wired for use in europe, the uk, and the united states. Dimensions per individual lamp: height 26 cm, width 18 cm, depth 6 cm.
