the piece is worked in a high-tin, lead-free alloy, with a continuous band of raised, bead-ringed cabochon medallions running around both the body and the domed lid, and a sculptural, hand-finished swirled shell motif forming the lid’s finial. The underside carries the workshop’s stamped mark, “peltro nani,” with a stylized profile emblem.

nani peltro pieces are known for combining hand-finishing with a restrained, sculptural decorative vocabulary — this sugar bowl’s repeated cabochon motif is characteristic of the workshop’s output, sitting between functional tableware and small-scale decorative sculpture.

condition: good vintage condition with natural tarnish and soft surface patina consistent with age, typical of pewter’s characteristic finish. No dents or losses to the beaded decoration. Lid fits securely and closes flush.
