The design transforms a functional object into a playful and highly distinctive decorative piece, with the fish’s profile defined by a rounded body, a pointed tail, and carved details suggesting fins and a mouth. The natural porosity of the travertine and its warm, creamy tones create subtle variations in surface and color, lending the piece a compelling, tactile quality. A circular hollow is carved into the center, designed to serve as an ashtray. The simplified animal form and geometric styling evoke the aesthetic of Italian Mid-Century Modern decorative objects from the 1970s. Today, the piece can also serve as a catch-all tray or a small decorative centerpiece. Dimensions: width 20 cm, depth 11 cm, height 3 cm. See less
