A teak sideboard designed by fredrik a. Kayser and produced in norway in the 1960s. Its form is simple and well balanced, but a few details give it real character. On the left are five drawers whose fronts have shaped, curved grooves instead of handles. They create a rhythmic, sculptural pattern across the front while making each drawer easy to open. The top has gently raised, rounded edges, and the sideboard stands on slender turned legs finished with brass caps, which add lightness and an elegant accent. Unfortunately, we have not been able to identify the manufacturer of this piece.
the sideboard is very practical. Behind two lockable doors there is a spacious compartment divided into two sections, with shelves on two levels. The drawers with light wood interiors hold cutlery, documents or smaller items, and one of them is lockable. Its proportions make it well suited to a living or dining room, or as a tv stand.
we also have a second, identical sideboard, restored in the same way. Both can be purchased together, which opens up many design possibilities. Placed side by side, they form a striking storage wall over three metres long, ideal for a long wall in a living or dining room. They can also be arranged symmetrically on opposite sides of a room, or split between two spaces to keep a consistent style throughout the home. This is a rare opportunity, as identical pairs of vintage furniture come up on the market far less often than single pieces.
the piece has been professionally and carefully restored by removing old coatings, staining and finishing with varnish. The restoration was carried out by a talented and experienced carpenter with over 20 years of experience. Thanks to these treatments, the sideboard looks stunning and will serve its new owner for many years without fear of damage or wear from everyday use. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs,
designer records,
or other literature sources and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising
